Starting up your own business is no easy task, but that never deterred Steve Walsh from chasing his dream of opening a clothing store for men. Eastwood Ave. Menswear has been operating in the Confederation Court Mall since May 2020. It offers a curated range of casual, contemporary men’s clothing, footwear, and accessories. The shop mostly hosts popular brands from Europe (including the UK, France, Italy, Denmark and more) that you couldn’t typically find east of Montreal… until now!
When Steve moved to PEI from England 12 years ago, he noticed that generally, men stuck to the classics when it came to clothing, sporting only navy, black, and greys. His goal is to bring more adventure to menswear on the East Coast, and his store is stocked up on unique pieces with stripes, patterns a wide range of colors and more! Steve says he thinks East Coasters are starting to embrace and enjoy the European styles.
Steve fell in love with Charlottetown when he vacationed here with his family as a child. He believes it’s a great city to start a business because of the tremendous community support that Islanders are known for. He also enjoys the comradery of the merchants in the mall. Steve likes to check in to Isla to see what latest styles they have in store, and he frequently visits Joseph from Dow’s who has 30 years of experience in men’s clothing and has always been there to help Steve out.
If your in the market for some stylish, high-quality men’s clothing that’s a little different than what you’re used to, stop by to see Steve at Eastwood Ave.
