Meet Nhu Tan! When her eldest daughter was born 14 years ago, Nhu Tan wanted to ensure she was using the best products possible for her child, so she began researching natural products. In doing so she discovered that many of the products we see on the supermarket shelves have harmful chemicals, GMOs or are unsustainably sourced.
Nhu soon realized that many parents were in the same boat; looking for products that were good for their child’s health while at the same time being good for the environment. This inspired Nhu to open Ann Wellness, a boutique located in the BDC Tower at 119 Kent St. This boutique carries a wide range of ethically sourced, sustainably made, natural and organic products such as supplements, beverages, skincare and household products. Soon, Nhu will soon receive a certified organic skincare line from CIME, a Belgium brand that uses ethically sourced Himalayan oils. Ann Wellness will be the first Canadian retailer to carry its products.
Nhu takes pride in supporting local as well, having a wide selection of PEI goods like skincare from Island’s beauty supplier Trillium, sustainably hand-made candles from Krafted Kreation, PEI blueberries and more. Nhu says being located in a hotspot in Downtown Charlottetown as well as having a sign on her window telling customers that she has local products, has been driving traffic to her store.
“We have an amazing business community here,” she shared about Confederation Court Mall. She has great relationships with her store’s neighbour, The Humble Barber, who provides their clients with a 20% off coupon for Ann Wellness. She also loves to enjoy a cup of coffee with friends in Alambé cafe located close to her shop.
If you’re looking for products that are hand-picked with care for your family’s well being, you can be sure to find them at Ann Wellness.
Fun Fact: the word ‘Ann’ means ‘peaceful’ in Vietnamese, so you’ll be sure that shopping at Nhu’s store will bring you peace of mind.
