An accomplished musician and music lover, Frederic Duong Kim Dung decided to open his store Vietnamese Guitar & Art Inc. when he noticed there was a lack of classical and Flamenco guitar shops on the Island. Frederic and his family moved to the Island two years ago from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The shop has been operating in the mall for the past eight months.
Before coming to the Island, Frederic worked as the Dean of the Guitar Department at the Hanoi Conservatory of Music and was the Vice President of the Vietnamese American Classical Guitar Society. Frederic also played his music professionally all over the world.
When it comes to guitars, Frederic’s education and experience make him an expert in the craft which is why he is the perfect person to help you choose the right guitar for you. He also offers lessons both in-person and online for guitar players of all ages and
levels.
In his shop, you will see many beautiful imported guitars from Vietnam. The guitar that is photographed with Frederic above is made by one of the most famous guitar makers in Vietnam, Cường Luthier. Luthier is an acclaimed craftsman known for creating high-quality instruments for many professional musicians. This exquisite guitar as well as many others in Frederic’s shop is reasonably priced.
In Frederic’s store, you will also find authentic Vietnamese paintings for sale. Frederic likes to share special Vietnamese art pieces with his customers, as art is another of his passions.
Frederic is very pleased with his decision to start his business in the Confederation Court Mall. “The mall is beautiful and everyone in Charlottetown is very kind and friendly,” Frederic says. The mall also gives him lots of opportunities to meet new people.
